Baby Ellie

Baby Ellie Rowe was born 6:15 pm on November 01,2010. She weighed "we think" 7lbs 4oz and was 20 in long.I say we think because she was weighed twice at the hospital. The first time they said she was 7lb 4 oz and then they weighed her again and said she was 8lbs 4 oz. They went with the second weight. We went for a dr. check up 3 days later and she only weighed 6 lbs 11 oz. So she would either be really sick or the weight was wrong in the first place to lose that much weight at once. And she is eating very well, and does not look sick at all. So we are going with the first weight. Everything is going well here in Alaska. It dumped a ton of snow the day Ellie was born and it hasn't stoped. Cody made a snowman in grandmas and grandpas drive way. And they spent the whole weekend dragging each other up the drive and sledding down.

Baby Shower

One of my friends at work put on a baby shower for me. We had a great time, and lot's of good food. A few people from work and church came and hung out. Now I just have to waite one more week and we should have a new baby girl. Her name will be Ellie Rowe.
Here is a good receipe for an Egg's Benedict that becky made for the baby shower. It was very tasty so you will have to try it.

Eggs Benedict:

3/4 cup butter
3/4 cup flour
4 cups milk
1 141/2 oz can chicken broth
1 pound fully cooked ham cubed
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
8 hard cooked eggs, quartered
1/2 teaspoon of salt
1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
10 to 12 biscuits, warmed

Melt butter in saucepan; stir in flour until smooth. Add milk and broth; bring to a boil. Cook and stir for two minutes. Add ham and cheese; stir until the cheese melts. Add eggs, salt and cayenne; heat through. Serve over biscuits.

Willow Crest 1 mile run

Haili's gym teacher came to me after school and told me, your daughter likes to run. I am thinking is this good or bad? Well, he wanted her to enter in a 1 mile run this weekend and so we did! No one in our family is a runner, but She was awesome. She ran a 1 mile cross country run ALL by her self, and she was the only 1st grader to compete in her school. With no training and being all new to running, she did an Awesome job. She finished in the top group with all the 3rd graders. I was so excited that she finished that I didn't get her time, but her teacher will let me know later. We do have to give Grandma Rowe kuddos, we were a little worried about her running a cross country race by her self so Grandma ran behind her. Haili had no idea she was there. Shanna even took a few short cuts :) and still couldn't catch up to Haili. We are so proud of them both...

Cody wanted to run too, only because Haili was doing it. So, Trevor decided to run with Cody in his division....I guess they got down the first hill and Cody plopped down on the ground and refused to go any further :) (He his a lot like his mom) So being a good father, Trevor made Cody finish what he started and he coaxed him (maybe dragged him a little) to the finish. In the end both kiddos recieved medals for finishing and they are both proud of their accomplishments. It was a very fun day, and it ended with a trip to DQ.

As soon as Cody saw me he started to ball and didn't want to finish, Trevor helped him the last few feet :) They might have finished a little sooner if Cody spent more time running (which he loves to do around the house) and less time throwing a fit. They both had fun, and Trevor couldn't stop laughing.

Summer Vacation

We rode a train to seward and back. We spent the day downtown and at the Sea life center. The kids loved looking at all the animals and most of all they had a blast in the train. The train has a place to look outside, between the cars. Haili would lean out and laugh.












We went to Gridwood and panned for gold. We also went to the Wild life conservation center, and saw many different animals that live in alaska. The kids got to watch them feed a baby Musk Ox. Cody's favorite part was digging holes all over the river with his shovel. The girls had a blast playing in the glacier water. They were both drentched by the time we were done. We did manage to get a few flakes of gold which was prety exciting.










We took the kids to see a reigndeer farm. The kids had a blast being encircled by tons of reigndeer. Reigndeer don't bight so the kids could feed them pellets out of their hands. They also had a few baby's that were no bigger then cody.
